DESCRIPTION
It consists of a high efficiency 15” low frequency driver, a custom high efficiency motor 10” drive unit on
a Polyhorn device optimised for mid frequencies, and an aluminium dome 1” motor high frequency compression
driver loaded by a high frequency Polyhorn device. Both low distortion Polyhorn designs feature a sharp cut-off
at the edges of the 50° horizontal by 25° vertical coverage pattern, which all but eliminates the comb filtering
effects commonly experienced between adjacent sources when arraying conventional horn designs.
The MX-500 includes a passive crossover network between the MF and HF drive units for bi-amped operation
which can be bypassed for full tri-amped operation by moving an internal jumper.
